MISSION STATEMENT

The Utah Association of School Resource Officers (UTASRO) is dedicated to providing the tools, resources, and
training that are implemented in educational institutions by school-based law enforcement officers as well as
school administrators, safety professionals, and educators that partner in protecting students, faculty and
staff, and their school community.
UTASRO is committed to bridging the gap between law enforcement and the student body as well as the community,
by providing a safe environment, open dialogue and meaningful discussion, proper education, and professional
training with the end goal of producing accurate information about law enforcement and the primary job
function of a school resource officer.

Message from the Board

Welcome back to school everyone! The Fall season is upon us, which means we are close to the holidays. As we stay the course, be mindful of your students' needs and what you can do to help them. Remember that we are a "Resource", as stated in our title, to these kids, and they look at us as such. Collaborate with the other "Resources" on campus to help you: school administration, student counselors and advocates, as well as parents. Look for ways to mentor, form positive relations, and rappor with the student body as well as faculty and staff. Be creative, think "out of the box", and execute your ideas! UTASRO is here to support you! Be safe and have a wonderful Fall Season! As always, you can reach out to us at utasro@gmail.com.
